Persicaria tinctoria (Japanese Indigo)

Cait Nolan is an artist, educator and gardener based in Lenapehoking (so-called New Jersey).

In her most recent artistic work she creates hyper-local place based quilts using fabric that she dyes with plants grown and foraged on her small farm and surrounding public land.

Cait is inspired by the cyclical nature of plant growing and her work leans into the limitations of seasonality as a response to the over consumption of our capitalist society.

This summer Cait will host fresh leaf indigo dyeing workshops at her farm studio.
